Close to home, Baton Rouge’s official farewell to one year and welcome to the next is Red Stick Revelry. Drawing the community to downtown’s Rhorer Plaza on Wednesday evening, the free event will offer music leading up to the countdown to 2026 and the Red Stick drop. Fireworks over the Mississippi River will cap off the night.<\/p>\n

Louisiana First News (NBC33\/FOX44) anchor Andre Moreau will host the festivities, with LFN broadcasting its full newscast from the event.<\/p>\n

Baton Rouge high-energy, multi-genre band Press 1 for English will lead off the music for Red Stick Revelry at 8 p.m. Wednesday.<\/p>\n

But first, Press 1 for English will get the music going\u00a0on The Crest Stage from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. After 8 takes over with more party music from 10 p.m. to midnight.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

The New Year’s Eve fun doesn’t stop there. Here are other events happening throughout the day and evening. All celebrations are in the Baton Rouge unless otherwise indicated:<\/p>\n

RED STICK RISING:<\/strong> 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., River Center Branch Library and North Boulevard Town Square. New Year’s Eve fun for the kids, including arts activities, the rising of the Red Stick at noon, an “Auld Lang Syne” singalong and The Amazing Bacon stilt walker.<\/p>\n

NOON YEAR’S EVE BALLOON DROP:<\/strong> 10 a.m. to noon, Knock Knock Children\u2019s Museum. It’s a family-friendly event with hands-on activities such as kazoo making, “Looking Back, Leaping Forward” goal reflections, and specialty headbands and crowns making. Topping things off is a balloon drop and confetti blast at noon. $15, general admission; free, members and\u00a0 children younger than 2. ROOFTOP RING IN:\u00a0<\/strong>8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., River Terrace, Shaw Center for the Arts. It’s a double celebration for the center as it marks the beginning of 2026 and its 20th anniversary. This special fundraising event will feature entertainment by the band Souled Out and Carl Mack Productions, light hors d\u2019oeuvres, bar service featuring specialty cocktails, unique photo ops, and a premier view of the fireworks show over the river. Proceeds will be donated to the maintenance and enhancement fund of the Shaw Center. The Hotel Indigo Downtown Baton Rouge will offer discounted hotel room rates for event attendees.
