Melissa Mae Carlton<\/strong><\/a> is mourning her second loss.<\/p>\n The influencer, along with her husband Tom Carlton<\/strong><\/a>, confirmed that they lost their second child, just over a year after losing their 9-year-old daughter Abigail<\/strong> to sepsis.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Melissa<\/strong> shared the news to social media this week, revealing that she lost younger daughter Molly<\/strong> on Christmas Day (December 25).<\/p>\n The couple also shares children Harry <\/strong>and Lily<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cOur Molly Moo<\/strong> \u2764\ufe0f December 25, 2025 On Christmas morning, our sweet Molly<\/strong> girl, and her big sister Abi<\/strong> were reunited. \ud83d\udc94 This is the only thing giving me even a small sense of comfort. Molly <\/strong>missed her sister so deeply. She would often ask me, \u2018Mummy, when is Jesus coming back so Abi<\/strong> can come down?\u2019\u201d she wrote.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cWe are devastated. In disbelief. Confused and in shock. We are exhausted and shaken after a day filled with trauma and heartbreak. I feel numb. I cannot yet accept that this is real. I am not ready for this pain.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe are overwhelmed by how many of you prayed with us and for her yesterday. I am asking, with all my heart, that those prayers do not stop \u2764\ufe0f. In the days and weeks ahead, there will be so much to do and to organize, and we will need strength beyond our own. I am scared of what life looks like now for us. I am heartbroken for our children. Last night, through tears, Harry<\/strong> told me that when we boarded the plane to Arizona on Monday, Molly<\/strong> leaned over and told him she wanted to be with Abi<\/strong>. Through sobs, he said, \u2018She got what she wanted.\u2019 \ud83d\udc94 Please hold our family in your prayers as we try to take this one very small step at a time.\u201d<\/p>\n Hours later, she provided another update<\/a> amid \u201cspeculation.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI hesitate to share a medical update already because we still don\u2019t have an official diagnosis. But I do feel it\u2019s important to let people know that we have some answers this time. The doctors believe Molly <\/strong>had a genetic heart condition and suspect this may have been the case with Abi<\/strong> as well. I\u2019m sharing this because I believe it could be critical information for families who have experienced SUDC (sudden unexpected death in children),\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n \u201cThis understanding came because Molly<\/strong> was able to be monitored in the hospital, which we were not able to do with Abi<\/strong>. I\u2019ve never felt satisfied with the answers we were given for her. But this type of condition, we\u2019ve been told that even a minor illness could potentially trigger a sudden cardiac event. That morning, we witnessed many small miracles. Paramedics were stationed just three minutes away and arrived quickly. The pediatric trauma centre was only fifteen minutes from where we were. We were in the best possible place, with everything aligned for the best conditions and the best outcome. Her little body fought so hard. But we\u2019ve been told that this type of cardiac event is, in most cases, not survivable. I hope we will get more answers soon and will be doing more genetic investigation for our family now we have possibly a clearer avenue to explore.
