Nerukhi\u2019s Latest Song \u2018One Fish To Another\u2019<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Visual Artist and retired Teacher from South Trinidad \u2013 Ato Osei a.k.a. Nerukhi launched his latest Calypso Music Video titled \u2013 ONE FISH TO ANOTHER on Boxing Day.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Calypsonian, popularly known for his fine arts paintings often celebrating his fellow Calypsonians, returns to the stage after a two year absence.<\/p>\n His song titled \u2018One Fish To Another\u2019 is a double-entendre social commentary that tells of a discussion among fish concerning the challenging environment in which they now live. It was recorded at the Nerukhi\u2019s home studio and features guitar by legendary guitarist Eugene Bass and background vocals by Luna.<\/p>\n The video was shot at various locations in Moruga, Claxton Bay Balandra and Manzanilla.\u00a0<\/p>\n Drone and general Videography was conducted by Patrice Bros Studios of Moruga with general video input from Nerukhi Studios.<\/p>\n Nerukhi laments the dying art of double entendre as well as humor in Calypso and blames the almost total focus on competition as a means of promoting the Artform. Judges he claims seem to focus on certain types of songs and ignore the totality of Calypso itself in the process. Artists in turn have focused over the years on songs that would impress the judges rather than that which truly serves the purpose of Calypso.<\/p>\n The calypsonian is a former \u00a0PRO of TUCO South Zone, Corinth Teachers College Guild President and Male Teacher of the year 2005. He is also a\u00a0songwriter and music and video producer.<\/p>\n He was a member of the cast of Kaiso Showkase for the years 2013, 2017, 2018 and 2019 and anticipates his song \u2013 One Fish to Another, to be a part of the Calypso mix in 2026.<\/p>\n He uses Visual Arts and Music as tools for social awareness and upliftment and producing music videos he says offers a unique opportunity to do both together.<\/p>\n
