The Grammy-winning singer has revealed that she used the 2025 Academy Awards as a networking ground, openly pitching herself to filmmakers and offering to write original music for their projects.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about her Oscars strategy, Cyrus said she kept things simple and honest. \u201cEverybody that came up and introduced themselves, I said, \u2018Well, if you need any music, I\u2019m around,\u2019\u201d she shared during an interview with <em>People<\/em>, adding that she has never shied away from putting herself out there. \u201cI kind of throw it out there as I always do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She recalled meeting filmmaker James Cameron at the 2024 D23 Expo, where a casual conversation turned into a major collaboration. \u201cI already knew the answer to, \u2018So what have you been up to?\u2019 I know he\u2019s been up to <em data-end=\"927\" data-start=\"919\">Avatar<\/em> for a very long time,\u201d she said, before telling him, \u201cJust lemme know if you ever need any music.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The timing worked in her favour. As Cameron was deep into post-production on the third <em data-end=\"1123\" data-start=\"1115\">Avatar<\/em> film, the exchange organically led to Cyrus contributing the song <em data-end=\"1204\" data-start=\"1190\">Dream As One<\/em>, which plays during the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.indiatoday.in\/entertainment\/music\/story\/miley-cyrus-original-song-avatar-fire-and-ash-personal-loss-resilience-2806959-2025-10-23?utm_source=global-search&amp;utm_medium=global-search&amp;utm_campaign=global-search\" target=\"_blank\">end credits of <em data-end=\"1266\" data-start=\"1244\">Avatar: Fire and Ash<\/em><\/a>. Cyrus revealed that she took a similar chance with Jamie Lee Curtis, which eventually led to her song <em data-end=\"1627\" data-start=\"1607\">Beautiful That Way<\/em> being featured in Gia Coppola\u2019s <em data-end=\"1679\" data-start=\"1660\">The Last Showgirl<\/em>. The track went on to earn a Golden Globe nomination. \u201cThat\u2019s how I ended up doing <em data-end=\"1778\" data-start=\"1763\">Last Showgirl<\/em> and now being a part of <em data-end=\"1811\" data-start=\"1803\">Avatar<\/em>,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>At the Oscars, Cyrus also floated the idea of working with the creators of <em data-end=\"1915\" data-start=\"1900\">Baby Reindeer<\/em>. \u201cI don\u2019t know what I would write for <em data-end=\"1969\" data-start=\"1954\">Baby Reindeer<\/em> season two, but I threw that out there,\u201d she admitted.<\/p>\n<p>For Cyrus, writing for films and series goes beyond professional ambition. She believes music plays a defining emotional role in visual storytelling. \u201cWriting songs for films lets me be part of what really kind of bites in a film,\u201d she said, explaining her deep attachment to such work.<\/p>\n<p>She added that some songs become inseparable from the films they feature in. \u201cThere are certain songs \u2014 whether written for a film or later used in it \u2014 like <em data-end=\"2496\" data-start=\"2472\">I Will Always Love You<\/em>, where you immediately think of the movie.
