A post shared by Timothe\u0301e Chalamet (@tchalamet)<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Much like the birthday boy himself, his party was <\/span>attended<\/span><\/a> by a series of celebrities who are real types of guys: <\/span>Leonardo DiCaprio<\/b>, <\/span>Tyler the Creator<\/b>, and <\/span>Nathan Fielder<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Meanwhile,<\/span> Marty Supreme<\/span><\/i> (in which Timmy plays the titular character who, as far as I can tell, is: a shoe salesman, a ping-pong champion, and a con artist) made over $17 million this weekend, marking A24\u2019s second-best release. <\/span>Variety<\/span><\/i> suggests<\/span><\/a> the movie will continue to \u201cremain a box office draw\u201d due to \u201cgreat word-of-mouth\u201d\u2014and the studio can at least count on my $16.50; after <\/span>Uncut Gems<\/span><\/i>, I will see anything <\/span>Josh Safdie<\/b> directs.<\/span><\/p>\n One marketing tool that other A24 films have not benefited from is the power of <\/span>Kris Jenner<\/b>. Chalamet and <\/span>Kylie Jenner<\/b> have been dating since roughly April 2023\u2014though for someone as overexposed as her and as energetic as him, they\u2019ve managed to keep things fairly quiet. So it was a big deal (insofar as these things matter, which they do not) that Kris posted not one but two <\/span>Instagram stories<\/span><\/a> promoting <\/span>Marty Supreme.<\/span><\/i> Both featured promotional windbreakers, and in one she was wearing the baggy top over an outfit that otherwise looks like black tie (and it kind of works, tbh). In another, she said \u201cGreatest movie ever!!\u201d which, to me, is actually an indictment of the film, but I imagine carries weight for at least <\/span>some<\/span><\/i> of her 51.6 million followers. If even 1 percent of them go to the movie, that\u2019s another $8.3 million in ticket sales\u2026 plus snacks! And I support that, if only because it means Josh Safdie will get to make more weird movies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Like what you just read?
