Spike Lee<\/a> has paid tribute to his longtime collaborator Isiah Whitlock Jr.<\/a>, who died on Tuesday in New York at age 71.<\/p>\n

Lee shared a photo of himself with Whitlock<\/a> on Instagram on Tuesday, writing, \u201cToday I Learned Of The Passing Of My Dear Beloved Brother Isiah Whitlock<\/a>. God Bless.\u201d<\/p>\n

Whitlock played small roles in several of Lee\u2019s films, including \u201cRed Hook Summer<\/a>,\u201d \u201cChi-Raq<\/a>,\u201d \u201cShe Hate Me<\/a>\u201d and \u201c25th Hour<\/a>.\u201d His two major roles in Lee\u2019s filmography came with \u201cDa Five Bloods,\u201d in which he plays Vietnam veteran Melvin alongside Delroy Lindo<\/a>, Jonathan Majors<\/a>, Clarke Peters<\/a> and Norm Lewis<\/a>, and \u201cBlackKkKlansman,\u201d in which he starred as police officer Mr. Turrentine alongside Alec Baldwin<\/a>, John David Washington<\/a> and Robert John Burke<\/a>.<\/p>\n
