Tatiana Schlossberg<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s cousin Maria Shriver<\/strong><\/a> is mourning her untimely death<\/a> at the age of 35.<\/p>\n

\u201cI return to this space today to pay tribute to my sweet, beloved Tatiana, who left this earth today. I return to this space to pay tribute and honor her loving and supportive family, who came together and did everything they possibly could do to help her,\u201d Shriver, 70, wrote via Instagram<\/span><\/a> on Tuesday, December 30. \u201cI return to this space heartbroken because Tatiana loved life. She loved her life, and she fought like hell to try to save it. I cannot make sense of this. I cannot make any sense of it at all. None. Zero.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0The JFK Library Foundation announced Schlossberg\u2019s death via Instagram<\/a> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning. She will always be in our hearts,\u201d read the statement signed by Tatiana\u2019s husband, George Moran<\/strong>, their two children, Edwin and Josephine, her parents, Edwin Schlossberg<\/strong> and Caroline Kennedy<\/strong>, her siblings, Jack<\/strong> and Rose Schlossberg<\/strong>, and her sister-in-law, Rory Schlossberg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tEnvironmental journalist Tatiana Schlossberg revealed her terminal cancer diagnosis in November 2025. Tatiana \u2014 who is the granddaughter of late president John F. Kennedy and former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis \u2014 confirmed in an essay published by The New Yorker that she was battling acute myeloid leukemia and was given a year to live [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In her latest social media post, Shriver praised Tatiana as a \u201cgreat journalist\u201d who used her words \u201cto educate others about the earth and how to save it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe created a beautiful life with her extraordinary husband George, and children Eddie and Josie,\u201d Shriver continued. \u201cShe fought like a warrior. She was valiant, strong, courageous. \u2026 Tatiana was the light, the humor, the joy. She was smart, wicked smart, as they say, and sassy. She was fun, funny, loving, caring, a perfect daughter, sister, mother, cousin, niece, friend, all of it\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

One month earlier, Tatiana \u2014 a journalist and author who was the granddaughter of late U.S. President John F. Kennedy<\/strong> \u2014 publicly shared her terminal cancer diagnosis<\/a>. In a New Yorker<\/em> essay, she revealed she\u2019d been given a year to live after learning she had acute myeloid leukemia following the birth of her second baby.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did not \u2014 could not \u2014 believe that they were talking about me. I had swum a mile in the pool the day before, nine months pregnant. I wasn\u2019t sick. I didn\u2019t feel sick. I was actually one of the healthiest people I knew,\u201d she wrote in November. \u201cI had a son whom I loved more than anything and a newborn I needed to take care of.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTatiana Schlossberg, the daughter of Caroline Kennedy and granddaughter of late U.S. president John F. Kennedy, was given one year to live when she was diagnosed with cancer in 2024. Schlossberg revealed in a November 2025 essay for The New Yorker that she was battling acute myeloid leukemia and that her cancer was terminal. One [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

After trying multiple treatment methods, Tatiana was informed of her life expectancy in January.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy first thought was that my kids<\/a>, whose faces live permanently on the inside of my eyelids, wouldn\u2019t remember me,\u201d she recounted. \u201cMy son might have a few memories, but he\u2019ll probably start confusing them with pictures he sees or stories he hears. I didn\u2019t ever really get to take care of my daughter \u2014 I couldn\u2019t change her diaper or give her a bath or feed her, all because of the risk of infection after my transplants. I was gone for almost half of her first year of life. I don\u2019t know who, really, she thinks I am, and whether she will feel or remember, when I am gone, that I am her mother.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in her essay, Tatiana expressed her gratitude<\/a> to her husband of eight years, Moran, and her family.<\/p>\n

According to Tatiana, Moran \u201cdid everything for me that he possibly could\u201d amid her illness.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know that not everyone can be married to a doctor, but, if you can, it\u2019s a very good idea,\u201d she noted. \u201cHe is perfect, and I feel so cheated and so sad that I don\u2019t get to keep living the wonderful life I had with this kind, funny, handsome genius I managed to find.\u201d<\/p>\n
