Authorities have arrested 12 more people in a wide-ranging drug<\/a> investigation that has ensnared prominent figures from the media and entertainment worlds.<\/p>\n

Among those arrested are nightclub owner Cengiz Can Atasay, Les Benjamins global director Zohaer Majhad, Miss T\u00fcrkiye<\/a> 2016 winner Buse \u0130skendero\u011flu and Tu\u011frulbey Aran, who were taken into custody on charges of inciting or facilitating prostitution.<\/p>\n

An arrest warrant was also issued for entertainment venue operator Y\u0131lmaz Efe and influencer Dilara Ege \u00c7evik, who were detained on Dec. 29 and brought before a court the following day on charges of facilitating drug use.<\/p>\n

Business owners Yasin Burak Ge\u00e7ek and Cihan G\u00fcler, social media figure Rabia Karaca, lawyer Burak G\u00fcng\u00f6rmedi and \u00d6mer Can K\u0131l\u0131n\u00e7 were arrested on drug and prostitution-related charges, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Several suspects, including social media influencers \u015eebnem \u0130nal, Rabia Yaman and Nilay Didem K\u0131lavuz, as well as business owner Emrah Gen\u00e7er, were released under judicial supervision.<\/p>\n

Social media celebrity<\/a> \u015eeyma Suba\u015f\u0131 was detained by gendarmerie teams at Istanbul Airport upon returning from Miami after an arrest warrant was issued for her last week as part of the investigation. She was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute before being transferred to the provincial gendarmerie command for questioning.<\/p>\n

The investigation intensified on Dec. 28, when police carried out simultaneous operations at 34 locations, including entertainment venues and hotels. Authorities said cocaine, liquid marijuana, skunk, drug paraphernalia and an unlicensed firearm were seized during the searches.<\/p>\n

Businessman Ali Baran S\u00fczer, operator Bahri G\u00fcne\u015f and rapper Ege Karata\u015f were referred to court on Dec. 29 on charges of facilitating drug use. Karata\u015f was arrested, while S\u00fczer and G\u00fcne\u015f were released under judicial control measures.<\/p>\n

Several high-profile figures remain at large, including businessmen Kas\u0131m Garipo\u011flu and Burak Ate\u015f, Miss Turkey 2018 winner \u015eevval \u015eahin and entertainment organizer Mert Vidinli.<\/p>\n

The probe<\/a> has also targeted the media sector. Prominent television anchor Mehmet Akif Ersoy was arrested during the early stages of the operation. Prosecutors allege that the former editor-in-chief of Habert\u00fcrk introduced women to men in his circle in exchange for professional or financial benefits and that the suspects enabled drug use at their residences.<\/p>\n

Hair samples from Ela R\u00fcmeysa Cebeci, a former program host at the same network, tested positive for cannabis, synthetic drugs and cocaine. She was subsequently arrested.<\/p>\n

Journalist Ebru G\u00fclan and businessmen Mustafa Manaz and Ufuk Tetik were also taken into custody as part of the investigation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
