I know that sounds really corny,\u201d Griffin admitted. \u201cOh God, it sounds so lame! But I felt really comfortable with him, and I felt very content just hanging out.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite the connection, Griffin acknowledged the romance \u201cnever could\u2019ve lasted.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe both knew that. But it was nice to know that my heart could still feel like that in my 60s, and it was nice to have the universe show me a guy that I really got a kick out of but also respected. I thought he was smart. I thought he could roll in different worlds,\u201d she wrote. \u201cIt sounds clich\u00e9, and maybe he was an old soul, but I don\u2019t know, we just clicked. And that click thing? It doesn\u2019t happen all that much. So even though there was a big age difference, I\u2019m glad that we were able to capture it for a little while.\u201d<\/p>\n
Griffin also admitted the man was \u201ctoo young\u201d for her.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe told me he never wanted to have kids and that he could be with me forever. And I was like, \u2018You don\u2019t know that. You\u2019re 23. You have no idea,\u2019\u201d she recalled. \u201cI just wouldn\u2019t do that to him. I mean, when I was 23, I thought I knew a lot of s***, but I didn\u2019t. So I had to set that dove free.\u201d<\/p>\n
And make no mistake\u2014she says she truly felt love.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe touched my heart. He came along at a time in my life where I was like, \u2018Men suck, and there\u2019s only bad ones, and why do I pick the worst ones?\u2019 And then he appeared, and I was like, \u2018Oh, OK, well, he\u2019s cool, but it\u2019s dumb, because he\u2019s too young.\u2019 We gave it a shot anyway, and we both went with it for a while, and then it came time to go,\u201d Griffin explained. \u201cHe made me feel sexy and special and smart and funny. It had a lot of the elements of what I think would\u2019ve made a real, lasting relationship. He hadn\u2019t been banged around that much. He\u2019s so young that he didn\u2019t have this baggage. And I just knew that my baggage was gonna get in the way.\u201d<\/p>\n
Griffin, who was previously married to Matt Moline<\/strong> and briefly linked to Apple cofounder Steve Wozniak<\/strong>, said younger men have increasingly caught her attention.<\/p>\n\u201cI haven\u2019t been with a guy my age since I was in my 30s. I don\u2019t know what it is, but my ex-husband was 18 years younger than me. Pretty much since then, I\u2019ve only been asked out by younger guys. So I\u2019m constantly called a cougar, but I don\u2019t mind,\u201d she shared. \u201cI kind of am a cougar, which to me just means you have the freedom to choose the person that you want as opposed to the age bracket that society tells you is the only option for you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
