\n\tDolly Parton<\/a> bid farewell to 2025 with a message to fans, hoping 2026 will be \u201cyour most wonderful year yet!\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tIn a short video shared on Instagram, the country legend said, \u201cCan you believe it\u2019s already time to ring in the New Year? As we say goodbye to the old and welcome the new, I want to wish each and every one of you a year filled with happiness and more blessings than you can count.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tIt\u2019s been a characteristically busy year for Parton, though not one without some heartache and difficulties. Back in March, Parton announced that her husband<\/a> of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, had died<\/a> at the age of 82. \u201cCarl and I spent many wonderful years together,\u201d Parton said in a statement at the time. \u201cWords can\u2019t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tA few days after Dean\u2019s death, Parton released a new song, \u201dIf You Hadn\u2019t Been There,\u201d<\/a> which she dedicated to her late husband. While she soon returned to the public eye and the stage, she later revealed on Khlo\u00e9 Kardashian\u2019s podcast that she had put her songwriting \u201con hold\u201d<\/a> in the wake of the loss.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cSeveral things I\u2019ve wanted to start, but I can\u2019t do it,\u201d she said. \u201cI will later, but I\u2019m just coming up with such wonderful, beautiful ideas. But I think I won\u2019t finish it\u2026 I can\u2019t do it right now because I\u2019ve got so many other things that I can\u2019t afford the luxury of getting that emotional right now. So there are times like that, things like that that will start here a little bit, but I\u2019ll write something else, though, if it comes. So I\u2019m just putting that all on hold.\u201d<\/p>\n
