The honeymoon looks like it could be over for newlywed soccer stars Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis as they checked out of their lavish Crown Towers digs this morning.<\/p>\n

The loved-up pair sported their regulation activewear as they breezed into the lobby just before midday, stopping to sign autographs and pose for photos with young fans.<\/p>\n

Kerr and Mewis and their families have spent the past four nights in suites at Crown Towers, where they were photographed by The West leaving for their nuptials on New Year\u2019s Eve.<\/p>\n

Mewis sparked fevered speculation about the impending betrothal when she revealed she and her Perth-born beloved would marry before 120 people at a private property.<\/p>\n

For the ceremony at a luxe Venetian-style property in the Swan Valley, American athlete Mewis wore an exquisite embellished off-the-shoulder gown and veil, while her new wife looked chic in a classic tux.<\/p>\n

The photogenic celeb couple were first linked during the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, there they competed against one another.<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t long before Kerr made them Insta official by posting playful photo booth images of them on her account.<\/p>\n

Kerr has spoken about how their relationship blossomed during COVID quarantine.<\/p>\n

However in an interview with Gaffer in 2022 , she said they had kept it a secret from the world for \u201cages.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThen it just got too hard to hide it. I remember one time we were with some friends and some fans asked for a picture and then we thought we don\u2019t really want this coming out from someone else. We want to be the ones to share it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hid it from everyone because it is a private thing when you don\u2019t know if it\u2019s going to be serious. Once we told our friends it kind of started getting out there a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the same interview, Mewis said she was eager to make their romance public.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was so proud that she was mine so I wanted to share it. I love her and I was so proud to be her girlfriend,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She also spoke about how she hoped their relationship might inspire or empower others.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think just being out and being two girls in love, I think if we can change one or two people\u2019s lives and the way that they feel about each other and how comfortable they feel, then that means a lot to me,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
