Popular comedian and actor John Mulrooney has died.<\/p>\n

He was 67.<\/p>\n

The Hollywood Reporter said that Mulrooney died suddenly on Monday at his home in Coxsackie, New York. <\/p>\n

Mulrooney was known for his work as a stand-up comedian, and he hosted \u201cComic Strip Live\u201d on Fox. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just stunned,\u201d <\/b>Steve Van Zandt told the Albany Times-Union<\/b><\/a>. \u201cTo talk to somebody less than two weeks ago, and he had mentioned what he was dong for Christmas, and he was looking forward to 2026 because had a pretty full calendar. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s all so unexpected,\u201d he added. \u201cIt\u2019s all sinking in.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mulrooney became a star in the Albany area via the radio in the late 1990s, per the Times-Union, when he began co-hosting a morning show at WPYX. And, in 2014, he began hosting \u201cMulrooney in the Morning\u201d on iHeartRadio. <\/p>\n

Along with his time hosting \u201cComic Strip Live,\u201d Mulrooney appeared on networks such as Showtime, HBO and Comedy Central. The Hollywood Reporter noted that he was a fill-in for Joan Rivers when she fired from Fox\u2019s \u201cLate Show\u201d in 1997, and also guest hosted \u201cThe Pat Sajak Show\u201d on CBS. <\/p>\n

His list of acting credits included \u201cRyder P.I.,\u201d \u201cThe Good Life,\u201d and \u201cHardball.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aside from his work as a comedian and actor, the Hollywood Reporter<\/b><\/a> noted that Mulrooney began working as a police officer with the Coxsackie Police Department in 2010 and worked there through 2024. <\/p>\n

Through the years, we have done shows for iHeart, Sirius, Howard 101, and many podcasts. He was an amazing and loyal friend. So many performers and writers looked to John for advice, and he was always willing to help anyone. Rest in peace, Johnny.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
