Jill Scott is making her long-awaited return to music this year. <\/p>\n
The R&B star announced<\/a> Friday that her new album, \u201cTo Whom This May Concern,\u201d will be released on Feb. 13. <\/p>\n The album will mark Scott\u2019s first full-length project since 2015\u2019s \u201cWoman,\u201d which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. <\/p>\n \u201cTHIS MAY CONCERN drops Feb. 13th,\u201d Scott wrote in an Instagram post<\/a> on Jan. 2. \u201cPLEASE PLEASE PLEASE and THANK YOU for your patience and your listening ears.\u201d<\/p>\n Fans can pre-save or pre-order the album online<\/a>.<\/p>\n Scott is a three-time Grammy Award<\/a>-winning artist who achieved platinum success straight out the gate with her 2000 debut album, \u201cWho Is Jill Scott?: Words and Sounds Vol. 1.” <\/p>\n A fixture of the modern Neo-soul movement, the Philadelphia native achieved further success with her following albums \u201cBeautifully Human: Words and Sounds Vol. 2\u201d (2004), \u201cThe Real Thing: Words and Sounds Vol. 3\u2033 (2007) and \u201cThe Light of the Sun\u201d (2011). <\/p>\n In 2025, Scott marked the 25th anniversary of her debut album with a special \u201cJill Scott & Friends\u201d performance<\/a> at Essence Festival in July.<\/p>\n Scott is also an accomplished actress. She made her film debut in 2007 in \u201cHounddog\u201d and Tyler Perry\u2018s \u201cWhy Did I Get Married?.\u201d Scott has also starred in the BBC\/HBO series \u201cThe No. 1 Ladies\u2019 Detective Agency,\u201d the film \u201cGet on Up\u201d and appeared in The CWDC Comics superhero series \u201cBlack Lightning.\u201d <\/p>\n Scott has been more focused on acting since her last album, most recently making a guest appearance on \u201cAbbott Elementary.\u201d She will return to the screen for Tyler Perry\u2019s \u201cWhy Did I Get Married Again?\u201d for Netflix, which started production<\/a> in October 2025. <\/p>\n
