Three years passed between seasons 1 and 2 of \u201cSeverance,\u201d so how long will fans have to wait for season 3?<\/p>\n

\u201cSeverance\u201d was renewed for a third season in March 2025. There\u2019s no official premiere date just yet, but season 3 of \u201cSeverance\u201d will likely premiere in 2027<\/b>. The show is expected to resume filming this year. <\/p>\n

Historically, \u201cSeverance\u201d seasons have dropped the year after filming wrapped up. Season 1 premiered in 2022 after filming wrapped in 2021, and season 2 debuted in 2025 after filming wrapped in 2024. If season 3 finishes shooting this year, a 2027 release date would make sense. <\/p>\n

During a November 2025 appearance on \u201cThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,\u201d <\/a>Ben Stiller, who serves as an executive producer and director for \u201cSeverance,\u201d teased that season 3 will be out \u201csoon-ish.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s tough because people do love the show and they\u2019re always like, \u2018When\u2019s the next season? When\u2019s the next season?\u2019 And it\u2019s always, \u2018We\u2019re working on it.\u2019 We\u2019ve only done 19 episodes over five and a half years,\u201d Stiller said with a laugh. \u201cI think Young Sheldon\u2019s done 600 episodes in that time.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cSeverance\u201d fans may have to practice patience between installments, but if season 3 is anything like season 2, it\u2019ll be worth the wait. The Apple TV series received a whopping 27 Emmy nominations in 2025, including Outstanding Drama Series. <\/p>\n

Of those 27 nods, \u201cSeverance\u201d won eight Emmys in 2025, including acting awards for main cast members Britt Lower (Helly R.) and Tramell Tillman (Seth Milchick) and recurring cast member Merritt Wever (Gretchen George).<\/p>\n

\u201cSeverance\u201d follows Lumon Industries employees who have undergone a procedure to separate their work memories from their personal lives. Their \u201cinnies\u201d have no knowledge of their lives outside work, while their \u201couties\u201d don\u2019t know what they do for Lumon. <\/p>\n

In addition to Lower and Tillman, \u201cSeverance\u201d stars Adam Scott (Mark S.), Zach Cherry (Dylan G.), Jen Tullock (Devon Scout-Hale), Dichen Lachman (Ms. Casey), Michael Chernus (Ricken Hale), John Turturro (Irving B.), Christopher Walken (Burt G.), Patricia Arquette (Harmony Cobel) and Sarah Bock (Eustice Huang).<\/p>\n
