Corner Alley<\/a> on East 4th Street is getting a co-owner: Hangry Brands announced it will share ownership of the bowling venue with MRN Family of Companies.<\/p>\nMRN is the developer of the East 4th entertainment district.<\/p>\n
Hangry Brands said in announcing the deal much about the venue won\u2019t change, and that includes the iconic bowling pins hanging off the Kresge Building. But it said plans for \u201ca necessary refresh\u201d might include adding an 18-hole miniature golf course, shuffleboard and pinball.<\/p>\n
It adds to Hangry Brands\u2019 growing enclave of dining and drinking establishments.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a natural addition to our family of restaurants and bars,\u201d said Hangry Brands founder Jason Beudert in a release. \u201cFrom the start, we focused on the downtown sports venues and East 4th Street as the place where we wanted to locate our businesses, which include Jolene\u2019s Honky Tonk, Society Lounge, and the upcoming Dugout park on East 4th, along with Geraci\u2019s Slice Shop and Lionheart Coffee just around the corner. Creatively reimagining these spaces and injecting much needed energy into them is what we do.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jori Maron, CEO of the MRN Family of Companies, called Corner Alley \u201ca cornerstone\u201d in the area.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe built Corner Alley on the theory that creating an active entertainment venue would be an important component to the East 4th experience. Two decades later, I can confidently say that this theory has been proven correct. Now it is time to inject new energy into the concept and there is no entertainment operator with more creative energy and enthusiasm than Hangry Brands.\u201d<\/p>\n
Corner Alley sits on the northeast corner of East 4th and Euclid Avenue in the pedestrian strip of businesses and bars whose patios often fill with pregamers for Guardians and Cavaliers games and concerts.<\/p>\n
The release said there are no plans to replace Corner Alley staff members, and improvements would not interrupt operations.<\/p>\n
Corner Alley has been around since 2006. A University Circle outpost lasted from 2014 to 2018.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
