Romy<\/strong> and Jake Reiner<\/strong> kicked off the New Year performing some community service.<\/p>\n

Romy, 28, and Jake, 34, whose parents were Rob Reiner<\/strong> and Michele Singer Reiner<\/strong>, were spotted cleaning up a beach in Malibu on Thursday, January 1, per photos obtained by TMZ<\/a>. The siblings were joined by their pal Alex Siliberg as they collected trash that washed up on the shore.<\/p>\n

This is the second time Jake and Romy were spotted walking on the beach since their parents\u2019 tragic deaths<\/a>. They were seen out and about in honor of Romy\u2019s birthday on Tuesday, December 30.<\/p>\n

Last month, Rob and Michele were found dead inside their Brentwood, California, home. The couple were 78 and 70, respectively.<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/em> later confirmed that Romy and Jake\u2019s brother, Nick, was arrested<\/a> and held without bail on a suspicion of murder after Rob and Michele were found with \u201capparent stab wounds.\u201d (Rob also shared adopted daughter Tracy, 61, with his first wife, the late Penny Marshall.)<\/p>\n

Nick, 32, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and declined to enter a plea during his first court appearance. His arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday. January 7, 2026.<\/p>\n

Shortly after news broke of Nick\u2019s arrest, Jake and Romy broke their silence on their parents\u2019 passing.<\/p>\n

\u201cWords cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day. The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience,\u201d the siblings said in a statement. \u201cThey weren\u2019t just our parents; they were our best friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair continued, \u201cWe are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life. We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave.\u201d<\/p>\n
