Manilow first shared that\u00a0a cancerous spot had been\u00a0found on his lungs in an Instagram post shared in late December.<\/p>\n
He explained that after suffering \u201cthrough six weeks of bronchitis followed by a relapse of another five weeks,\u201d his doctors ordered more tests out of an abundance of caution and found something more serious.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven though I was over the bronchitis and back on stage at the Westgate Las Vegas, my wonderful doctor ordered an MRI just to make sure that everything was OK. The MRI discovered a cancerous spot on my left lung that needs to be removed. It\u2019s pure luck (and a great doctor) that it was found so early. That\u2019s the good news.\u201d<\/p>\nBarry Manilow\u00a0gave his fans an update on Instagram that he received positive news after his initial lung cancer diagnosis in December. He went on to apologize to all his fans\u00a0who had already purchased tickets, telling them he was \u201clooking forward to the January shows\u201d as much as they were and that he \u201chate[s] having to move everything around.\u201d<\/p>\nManilow posted a photo with the caption \u201cBetter Today!\u201d as fans all over were happy to see the \u201cCopacabana\u201d singer receive a positive update in his cancer battle. \u201cBut we took it to a disco, when there were discos, and we asked the DJ to play it,\u201d Manilow said. <\/p>\n
\u201cAnd everybody ran to the dance floor and started to dance like they were back in the 1940s.
