KANSAS CITY, Mo.\u2014The Kansas City Royals announced today they have agreed to a contract extension with Manager\u00a0Matt Quatraro. The new deal begins in 2027 and is for three years (through 2029), with a club option for the 2030 season.<\/p>\n
In three seasons under Quatraro, the Royals have gone 224-262 (.461). His 224 wins are already the 7th most by a Manager in franchise history. Among Royals Managers in their first three full seasons with the organization, Quatraro\u2019s 224 wins rank 5th, behind only\u00a0Whitey Herzog\u00a0(284),\u00a0Dick Howser\u00a0<\/b>(253),\u00a0John Wathan\u00a0(251) and\u00a0Ned Yost\u00a0(229).<\/p>\n
After going 56-106 during Quatraro\u2019s first season in 2023, the Royals went 86-76 in 2024\u2014and advanced to the American League Division Series\u2014and finished 82-80 in 2025.<\/p>\n
