Michael B. Jordan recently opened up about his major turning point in his career since he makes his debut in Black Panther<\/i> in 2018.<\/p>\n

The actor revealed his Erik Killmonger role in the MCU movie impacted his mental health to the point that he sought professional help,<\/p>\n

Speaking to CBS Sunday Morning<\/i>, Michael said, \u201cI think Erik didn\u2019t experience that\u2026 He had a lot of betrayal, a lot of failed systems around him that shaped him and his anger and his frustration.\u201d<\/p>\n

During his role preparation, the Sinners<\/i> actor recalled he didn\u2019t speak to his family and therefore, he felt isolated. <\/p>\n

\u201cI went into my hole and tried to live like he would have lived for a bit, whatever that process was,\u201d remarked the 38-year-old.<\/p>\n

However, Michael went on saying that the role stuck with him for a long time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI went to therapy, talked about it, found a way to kind of just decompress. And I think at that point, I was still learning that I needed to decompress from a character,\u201d explained the Creed II<\/i> actor.<\/p>\n

Michael pointed out that there\u2019s \u201cno blueprint to this\u201d noting, \u201cActing is a solo journey a lot of times.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cAuditioning by yourself, practicing by yourself. There are a lot of preparation and the experience and the journey,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Michael mentioned that his therapy sessions \u201cspiraled into a bigger conversation and self-discovery,\u201d adding that therapy \u201cis necessary \u2026 especially for men\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, that\u2019s something I\u2019m not ashamed of at all and very proud of,\u201d he stated. <\/p>\n

Before concluding, Michael further said, \u201cIt definitely helped me throughout the years and to this day of trying to be a good communicator and a well-rounded person, inside and out.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
