Meghan Markle looking like a “diva” went viral in a TikTok video that said she “chose mental health over the crown.”<\/p>\n
Markle got famous starring in hit legal drama Suits before marrying Prince Harry and becoming the Duchess of Sussex.<\/p>\n
A TikTok video celebrated her journey from normal life into the palace and back to her new life in California living in a $14 million Montecito mansion, and was posted with the on-screen caption: “Rare aesthetic: you grew up lower class, met a royal online and chose mental health over the crown.”<\/p>\n
The video went viral after it was liked 38,500 times and watched 436,700 times having been posted with the message: “Diva.”<\/p>\n
While Meghan was certainly not born into anything resembling the British aristocracy, her family was not particularly working class either, as evidenced by the fact she went to the exclusive Los Angeles private school Immaculate Heart.<\/p>\n
Needless to say, marrying Prince Harry in May 2018 and becoming in the process a member of the British Royal Family was clearly a life-changing experience for Meghan.<\/p>\n
In March 2021, Meghan told Oprah Winfrey she had experienced suicidal thoughts while pregnant with her first child Prince Archie and felt she did not get enough support from the palace: “I just didn\u2019t want to be alive any more and that was a very clear and real and frightening constant thought. And I remember how he [Prince Harry] just cradled me.<\/p>\n
“And I went to the institution, and I said that I needed to go somewhere to get help. I said that, \u2018I\u2019ve never felt this way before, and I need to go somewhere.\u2019 And I was told that I couldn\u2019t, that it wouldn\u2019t be good for the institution.”<\/p>\n
The account was part of Harry and Meghan’s account of why they felt they had to leave Britain to get away from a toxic cloud that had descended over their royal lives.<\/p>\n
The TikTok video began with a photo of Meghan as a child before cutting to a promotional image from Suits, showing her standing alongside Patrick J. Adams.<\/p>\n
The video then cuts to Meghan on her wedding day, at St George’s Chapel, in Windsor, wearing a white gown by British designer Clare Waight Keller, then of Givenchy.<\/p>\n
Another image showed her emerald green outfit from the Commonwealth Day service, at Westminster Abbey, London, in March 2020, her final royal job before quitting Britain for a new life in America.<\/p>\n
Later images include the couple’s 2025 Christmas card and snippets of With Love, Meghan<\/em>, the duchess’ Netflix cooking and lifestyle show, which premiered last year.<\/a><\/p>\n One fan replied to the TikTok video:<\/strong> “Oh and then get hated on for living a happy life with your Family.”<\/p>\n Another comment read: <\/strong>“Lower class?
