Bristol Palin<\/a> has shared an update on her facial paralysis<\/a> one year after waking up with the entire left side of her face \u201cnumb.\u201d<\/p>\n Taking to her Instagram Stories<\/a> on Saturday (January 3), the daughter of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin<\/a> shared a clip from an \u201cAsk Me Anything\u201d she hosted on December 9, in which a follower asked whether there was any \u201cprogress\u201d on her condition.<\/p>\n \u201cIf anyone\u2019s wondering, today\u2019s day 323 of my face being paralyzed,\u201d Bristol said in response to the question, per People<\/em><\/a>. \u201cNot looking great.\u201d<\/p>\n She then removed her sunglasses to reveal that the left side of her face is still paralyzed. \u201cNot a whole lot of movement,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n Bristol Palin Instagram<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n Bristol Palin Instagram<\/p>\n The Dancing With the Stars<\/em><\/a> alum went on to discuss how she plans to deal with the condition. \u201cThis eye,\u201d she said, referring to her left eye, \u201cI will eventually get Botox in it. It just gets so small when I smile, or when I\u2019m expressive at all.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite the less-than-stellar update, Bristol remained upbeat, quipping, \u201cCould be worse, could be better. At least I\u2019ve got cute sunglasses.\u201d<\/p>\n Bristol, who featured in the TLC reality series Sarah Palin\u2019s Alaska<\/em><\/a> and MTV\u2019s Teen Mom<\/em><\/a>, first revealed her facial paralysis in January 2025. \u201cI woke up nine days ago with a little weird sensation in my face,\u201d she said on social media at the time.<\/a> \u201cMy mouth was pulling this way, and it just felt a little off. So I went, looked in the mirror. I\u2019m like, \u2018Wow. This is looking a little weird.’\u201d<\/p>\n She continued, \u201cWithin a couple hours, the entire left side of my face was numb and just paralyzed\u2026 Couldn\u2019t really blink my eye. Definitely had no movement on [the left side] of my face. So crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n Bristol revealed that doctors believed she was suffering from Bell\u2019s palsy. According to the Mayo Clinic<\/a>, Bell\u2019s palsy \u201ccauses sudden weakness in the muscles on one side of the face,\u201d resulting in half of the face appearing to droop, a one-sided smile, and difficulty closing the eye on the affected side.<\/p>\n Symptoms usually start to improve after a few weeks; however, \u201ca small number of people continue to have some Bell\u2019s palsy symptoms for life.\u201d<\/p>\n Bristol previously told her followers she\u2019s tried \u201ceverything imaginable to resolve this.\u201d<\/p>\n Read the latest entertainment news on TV Insider<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
