Something I\u2019ve always wondered about is how bad or good an awards show is as a date night. For us regular degulars, we get to really dress up maybe a few times in life\u2014prom, weddings, maybe a work event depending on careers. But actors get to dress up all the time and go out, but does it suck? I\u2019ve worked backstage at awards shows and like most things, they\u2019re never as glamorous up close as they are on TV, but if you\u2019re all dressed up, the drinks are free, you have a car service and a babysitter, if needed, for the night, is it a bad date night? Or fun? At least posing on the red carpet, it looks pretty fun. Case in point, Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell look like they were goofing off while posing for photos.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n \u00a0She is so hot and glamorous! Also, every time I see Matthew Rhys in a tux, I think about the James Bond that wasn\u2019t. But seeing Keri Russell in a tux! Mother! It is too much!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n In contrast, I present Tom Pelphrey and Kaley Cuoco. It\u2019s not bad, it\u2019s just not as good as Keri Russell\u2019s smolder.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Also looking like they were having fun were Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller; Tom Pelphrey\u2019s Task<\/em> co-star Mark Ruffalo and his wife, Sunrise Coigney; and Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Then there was millennial nostalgia couple Adam Brody and Leighton Meester. I didn\u2019t recognize her at first because of the lighter hair. In my mind, Leighton Meester is a forever brunette. I also think Adam\u2019s suit makes them look like a math teacher and his cool wife chaperoning a high school dance. It might also be the looks on their faces in this specific photo, which is giving \u201cwe like your vibe but please leave six inches between you while you slow dance\u201d.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Finally, a platonic couple who attended together are Hacks<\/em> co-creator and co-showrunner Paul W. Downs, and Hacks<\/em> star Meg Stalter. They came dressed in full Halloween costume as Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet and Kylie Jenner.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n It\u2019s like\u2026I don\u2019t hate it, but I also wonder how Timmy and Kylie felt seeing this live in the room. I can\u2019t decide if it\u2019s funnier or just plain weird to do this when you KNOW the person you\u2019re lampooning will be there to witness it. I generally think you should only tell jokes you would tell straight to someone\u2019s face, so in that way, I do like it, because they did this knowing Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet was nominated and would be in attendance. They had the guts to do it knowing he would see it in real time. But it\u2019s also sort of dumb. Like okay, Timmy and Kylie stunted to promote Marty Supreme<\/em>. Now you\u2019re stunting their stunting. Is it too meta? I don\u2019t think I\u2019m on board with this, but I also don\u2019t hate it. I feel a mix of emotions.
