Now the upcoming documentary promises answers. The film will feature table reads, behind-the-scenes footage from production, and the creative debates over the final storyline and the fate of one major character, as highlighted in the newly released trailer. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cStranger Things\u201d was created by Matt and Ross Duffer and is produced by Upside Down Pictures and 21 Laps Entertainment. Set in the fall of 1987, the final season follows a group of teens, and a few of their parents, as they set out to end Vecna\u2019s reign once and for all. All episodes of Season 5 are now streaming on Netflix. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The documentary is directed by Martina Radwan, whose previous work includes the 2023 feature \u201cTomorrow, Tomorrow, Tomorrow.\u201d Radwan was also a cinematographer on \u201cGirls State,\u201d for which she earned an Emmy, according to <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/tv\/news\/stranger-things-documentary-trailer-netflix-release-date-1236622475\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer\" title=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/tv\/news\/stranger-things-documentary-trailer-netflix-release-date-1236622475\/\">Variety<\/a>. She spent a full year on set documenting the production of Season 5. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019m endlessly grateful to the Duffer Brothers for trusting me with a front-row seat to this incredible journey,\u201d said Radwan in a statement. \u201cSpending a full year on set with them was a true privilege \u2014 and an absolute thrill.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Radwan said documenting the final season was \u201cpure joy,\u201d adding she wished she could go back in time to film the making of seasons 1 through 4. She credited the show\u2019s creators with fostering a collaborative environment that pushed everyone involved to succeed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cFrom the cast to their long-time collaborators, everyone welcomed me with remarkable generosity openly sharing their personal and collective experiences from a decade of creative filmmaking, always pushing the boundaries,\u201d Radwan continued. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Duffer brothers said the documentary was inspired by \u201cThe Lord of the Rings\u201d behind-the-scenes films, which helped make Hollywood feel more accessible for the pair at a time when the industry once seemed \u201cimpossibly far away.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cWe saw how stressed Peter Jackson was and thought: yep, that\u2019s the dream. With the decline of physical media that kind of behind-the-scenes storytelling has largely disappeared,\u201d the Duffers said in a joint statement. \u201cWe wanted to bring it back. \u2018One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things Season 5\u2032 \u2014 beautifully captured and directed by Martina Radwan \u2014 is our attempt to do just that.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cIf you love \u2018Stranger Things,\u2019 or if you\u2019re simply curious how a major Hollywood production comes to life, this one\u2019s for you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">While the series has come to an end, the world of Hawkins will continue to expand.
