Stephen Colbert<\/a> offered what he called a \u201cpredictable answer\u201d when asked which person\u2019s body he\u2019d slip into for 24 hours. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI would slip inside the skin of our president and I would resign,\u201d said the \u201cLate Show<\/a>\u201d host with a chuckle during Slate\u2019s \u201cPolitical Gabfest\u201d 20th anniversary show<\/a> last month.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Colbert, a frequent Donald Trump<\/a> critic who\u2019s faced repeated attacks<\/a> from the president, told former CBS Evening News anchor John Dickerson there\u2019d be \u201cno scandal\u201d and \u201cno confession\u201d upon his imaginary resignation as Trump.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u2033[I\u2019d] just go, \u2018It\u2019s been great, I\u2019m a wonderful \u2014 I\u2019m the best ever. I\u2019m going to go out on top, I\u2019ve done everything. I\u2019m just going to go,\u2019 that\u2019s it. It can be a glorious ending. Just end it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Moments after New York Times Magazine staff writer Emily Bazelon suggested there could be a problem if people find out about Colbert\u2019s bodily takeover, the \u201cLate Show\u201d host chimed in with a \u201charrowing follow-up question\u201d about Trump.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cIs he taking over my body for those 24 hours?\u201d the comedian quipped.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
