Mickey Rourke has denied that he approved<\/a> an online fundraiser to help him avoid eviction<\/a>. <\/p>\n Rourke, 73, said he was \u201cfrustrated and confused\u201d by the situation in a video he posted to Instagram<\/a> Monday, Jan. 5. <\/p>\n \u201cSomebody set up some kind of foundation or fund for me to donate money, like in a charity, and that\u2019s not me, OK? If I needed money, I wouldn\u2019t ask for no [expletive] charity. I\u2019d rather stick a gun up my ass and pull the trigger,\u201d the Oscar-nominated actor said. <\/p>\n \u201cWhoever did this, I don\u2019t know why they did it, I don\u2019t understand it. I wouldn\u2019t know what a GoFund foundation is in a million years,\u201d Rourke continued. \u201cYou know, my life is very simple, I don\u2019t go to outside sources like that. And yeah, it is embarrassing, but I\u2019m sure I\u2019ll get over it like anything else.\u201d<\/p>\n A GoFundMe<\/a> entitled \u201cHelp Mickey Rourke Stay in His Home\u201d<\/a> was created two days ago with the intent to help Rourke pay roughly $60,000 in owed rent, as first reported by The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>. The campaign page indicates that it was organized by Liya-Joelle Jones, a friend and member of Rourke\u2019s management team.<\/p>\n \u201cMickey is facing a very real and urgent situation: the threat of eviction from his home,\u201d the campaign reads. \u201cThis fundraiser is being created with Mickey\u2019s full permission to help cover immediate housing-related expenses and prevent that from happening.\u201d<\/p>\n
