Acclaimed actor Mickey Rourke has come forward to denounce an online fundraiser <\/a>set up to help pay off almost $60,000 that he supposedly owes in back rent. <\/p>\n In a video posted to his Instagram account,<\/a> Rourke, 73, said he had not been made aware of the GoFundMe that was set up in his name. <\/p>\n \u201cSomething\u2019s come up that … I\u2019m really frustrated, confused and I don\u2019t understand,\u201d he says in the video. \u201cSomebody set up some kind of foundation or fund for me to donate money, like charity. And that\u2019s not me, OK? … If I needed money, I wouldn\u2019t ask for no [expletive] charity. I\u2019d rather stick a gun up my ass and pull the trigger.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI wouldn\u2019t know what a GoFund foundation is in a million years,\u201d he continued, with his dog Lucky in his lap. \u201cMy life is very simple, I don\u2019t go to outside sources like that. It is embarrassing but I\u2019m sure I\u2019ll get over it like anything else. <\/p>\n Rourke also acknowledged his troubled past, saying, \u201cI\u2019ve done a terrible job in managing my career. I wasn\u2019t very diplomatic. I had to go to over 20 years of therapy to get over the damage that was done to me years ago and I worked very hard to work through that and I\u2019m not that person anymore. … I\u2019m not that wild man that I was 20-something years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n Rourke went on to call the GoFundMe \u201cvery embarassing\u201d and implored his fans not to give any money to it. \u201cIf you gave money get it back,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Wrestler\u201d actor also said he planned to talk to his lawyer, describing it as \u201chumiliating.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t need anybody\u2019s money. I wouldn\u2019t do it this way, I got too much pride, man. It ain\u2019t my style,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n The GoFundMe <\/a>was created by Liya-Joelle Jones, who, according to Deadline<\/a>, is an assistant to Rourke\u2019s manager, Kimberly Hines.<\/p>\n \u201cMy assistant started it to help Mickey as a nice gesture because he was being forced out of his home,\u201d Hines said to Deadline. \u201cIt was not done with any mal intent. The money has not gone anywhere. If Mickey decides he does not want it, the money will be returned to his fans.\u201d<\/p>\n
