\n\tThe U.K. music industry<\/a> is famed for its tardy return to the office following the festive period, but you sense that the workforce might be keen to get 2026 up and running. Ask around and the mood is quietly confident and that the coming 12 months could be another bumper period for a market that many had written off.<\/p>\n

\n\tLast week, the BPI announced<\/a> that in 2025 the U.K. recorded music market had grown by 5% in the latest encouraging sign that things are progressing in the right direction. While Oasis<\/a>\u2019 mammoth reunion tour and Taylor Swift<\/a>\u2019s The Life of a Showgirl <\/em>led the way, mixed in the end-of-year report were signs that new stars were establishing themselves: Olivia Dean, Lola Young, Sam Fender, Yungblud and more had all taken creative leaps in 2025 and reaped commercial rewards.<\/p>\n

\n\tFrom a cultural standpoint, 2026 is now finely poised for the Brits. Next month Charli xcx<\/a> will release her first full collection since brat<\/em> with a soundtrack to Emerald Fennell\u2019s Wuthering Heights<\/em> adaptation, a taster of where the next phase of her artistry will take her. Dean looks poised to build on her stunning breakout moment with a massive world tour, and RAYE \u2013 who just earned<\/a> the U.K.\u2019s first No. 1 single of 2026 \u2013 is readying a sophomore studio album. Rumous are swirling that Harry Styles \u2013 one of the industry\u2019s most bankable stars \u2013 is readying a comeback in the coming months, and Lily Allen is readying her return to the live arena.<\/p>\n

\n\tThere\u2019s also set to be upheaval in the industry, too. The Labour government is working through its manifesto pledges to upend the secondary market for tickets, and look set to provide a major boost for local grassroots venues. The industry\u2019s response to artificial intelligence will also be keenly followed, while The BRIT Awards leave London for the first time in a major shake-up. They\u2019re all on the agenda for a potentially massive 2026 in the U.K. music industry; these are the burning questions set to be answered.<\/p>\n
