Real-life K-drama<\/a> ensues on Single\u2019s Inferno<\/em>, the hit Korean dating<\/a> series on Netflix, which returns for its fifth season this month, promising to be \u201cdarker and hotter than ever,\u201d according to the streamer.<\/p>\n

The dating show\u2014which was the first Korean reality series to join Netflix’s global top 10 ranking back in 2022<\/a>\u2014sees a group of singletons spend a week or so together on a remote island, also known as the \u201cInferno,” where they compete in a series of games on a quest for true love. The winners of each round of games get to escape the island for a night to have private dates with a contestant of their choice at a hotel in \u201cParadise.\u201d<\/p>\n

What Happens on ‘Single\u2019s Inferno’ Season 5?<\/h2>\n

The official trailer for Single\u2019s Inferno<\/em> Season 5, which premieres on January 20, was released on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The trailer begins with a topless man seen gently placing his hand on a bikini-clad woman, as a voiceover says, \u201cMaybe we should show more skin.\u201d<\/p>\n

The clip later features couples posing together, as another voiceover says, \u201cYou are sexy,\u201d before the show hosts back in the studio are heard gasping while observing the monitors, as one asks, \u201cOh my\u2026what\u2019s going on?\u201d<\/p>\n

Two hands are shown touching across a table, as a voiceover teases, \u201cI want you,\u201d which sees the show’s emcees erupt again in the studio, with one saying, \u201cSeason 5 is wild.\u201d<\/p>\n

The clip later cuts to a darkened room with two people under a blanket on a bed in a hotel room. One of the show hosts points out that \u201ctheir lips are basically ready,\u201d as the video cuts to two people shuffling around under the duvet before the hosts appear visibly shocked, with one saying: \u201cThis is insane.\u201d<\/p>\n

The trailer ends with one of the cast members asking: \u201cIs it possible for me to leave Single\u2019s Inferno <\/em>with two men?\u201d leaving the show hosts stunned in silence.<\/p>\n

‘Single\u2019s Inferno’ Director on Season 5: \u2018Unlike Anything You\u2019ve Seen\u2019<\/h2>\n

The latest trailer release comes after a \u201csizzling\u201d teaser was revealed last month, with \u201ca more thrilling Paradise and an Inferno that\u2019s darker and hotter than ever,\u201d Netflix said in a statement on December 23.<\/p>\n

The show\u2019s director Kim Jae-won, who has led the series across five seasons, said in the statement: \u201cDesigned as a classic dating reality series, Season 5 focuses on the butterflies you feel in a romantic relationship. You can expect much more diverse romantic arcs and unforgettable personalities. The season also explores fascinating dynamics between participants, unlike anything you\u2019ve seen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Single\u2019s Inferno<\/em> has gone from strength to strength since its first season became the first original Korean unscripted series to make it onto Netflix\u2019s Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) ranking.<\/p>\n

The show\u2019s second season<\/a> went on a four-week run on the same chart ranking. Season 3 broke new ground with five weeks in the Global Top 10 and Top 10 placements in 31 countries, while its fourth season had \u201cthe strongest first-week viewing hours yet,\u201d according to Netflix.<\/p>\n
