\u201cThe Hobbit\u201d actress and former model Evangeline Lilly, 46, recently revealed that she sustained brain damage months after suffering a concussion<\/a> in an incident where she fell face-first into a boulder. <\/p>\n

She turned to Instagram<\/a> on Jan. 2 to share the awful news in a video. <\/p>\n

The video is the latest health update the \u201cLost\u201d actress has posted in a string of videos explaining her \u201chealing process<\/a>,\u201d since first opening up about the incident back in May. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m entering into this new year, the Year of the Horse, with some bad news about my concussion,\u201d the actress shared. \u201cA lot of you asked how I\u2019m doing. A lot of you have inquired about the brain scans that you heard I got. And the results came back from the scans.\u201d<\/p>\n

The star stepped away from acting<\/a> in 2024 shortly after revealing her the traumatic experience to fans. <\/p>\n

The \u201cAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania\u201d star shared the results from those scans, saying that it showed \u201calmost every area in my brain is functioning at a decreased capacity.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cSo I do have brain damage from the TBI (traumatic brain injury), and possibly other factors going on,\u201d she explained. <\/p>\n

In addition to feeling incredibly \u201cgrateful\u201d and \u201cblessed\u201d to know about her condition, Lilly added she is now ready for what comes next. <\/p>\n

\u201cNow my job is to get to the bottom of that with doctors and then embark on the hard work of fixing it, which I don\u2019t look forward to because I feel like hard work is all I do,\u201d she said. \u201cBut that\u2019s okay. My cognitive decline since I smashed my face open has helped me to slow down and helped me to have a more restful finish to my 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n

Additionally, the actress said receiving the results was a plus because she felt \u201ccomforted\u201d in the fact that her symptoms weren\u2019t tied to perimenopause. <\/p>\n

\u201cVerdict\u2019s in…I do have brain damage from my tbi,\u201d she wrote in the caption of the recent update. \u201cComforting to know my cognitive decline isn\u2019t just perimenopause, discomforting to know what an uphill battle it will be to try to reverse the deficiencies. Thank you all for always asking, for always caring, and for your continued prayers.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
