\n\tTracee Ellis Ross<\/a> and her production company Joy Mill Entertainment have entered a multi-year deal at Fox Entertainment Studios<\/a>. The partnership entails a first-look deal for scripted content and an overall deal for unscripted content produced by Joy Mill.<\/p>\n \n\tJoy Mill\u2019s scripted slate will span across comedy, drama and animation, with unscripted and reality formats to be developed as well. Adriana Ambriz will continue her role as Joy Mill\u2019s head of development, having entered the position in 2020.<\/p>\n \n\tRoss is best known for starring as Dr. Rainbow Johnson in \u201cBlack-ish,\u201d the Kenya Barris-created sitcom that ran on ABC for eight seasons from 2014 to 2022. Before that, she led the Mara Brock Akil comedy \u201cGirlfriends\u201d as Joan Carol Clayton for eight seasons on UPN and later the CW. Her other prominent credits include the 2020 film \u201cThe High Note,\u201d which she executive produced in addition to starring, the 2023 film \u201cAmerican Fiction\u201d and the Season 7 \u201cBlack Mirror\u201d episode \u201cCommon People.\u201d In 2022, Hulu and the Oprah Winfrey Network debuted \u201cThe Hair Tales,\u201d a docuseries Ross created about the history and significance of Black hair.
