Ashley Tisdale<\/a> is not bopping with this drama.<\/span><\/p>\n

A rep for the “High School Musical” alum denied rumors that <\/span>her recent essay detailing her experience<\/span><\/a> with a \u201ctoxic mom group\u201d was about her friendship with fellow moms <\/span>Mandy Moore<\/a>, <\/span>Hilary Duff<\/a> and <\/span>Meghan Trainor<\/a>, telling <\/span>TMZ<\/span><\/a> Jan. 5 it was unfortunate Tisdale\u2019s words had been twisted in that way.<\/span><\/p>\n

As Tisdale’s\u2019s rep explained, the 40-year-old penned the essay in the hopes of putting focus on the issues facing some mom circles, pulling from her own experiences of being shut out of her friend group in a way that made her feel like she was right back in high school. <\/span><\/p>\n

E! News has reached out to Tisdale\u2019s rep but has not heard back yet. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Disney Channel star \u2014 who shares kids <\/span>Jupiter, 4, and <\/span>Emerson, 16 months, with husband <\/span>Christopher French \u2014 shared in the personal piece that when she first met her former mom group she was \u201ccertain that I\u2019d found my village.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBut over time,\u201d she wrote in the essay for <\/span>The Cut<\/span><\/a> published Jan, 1, \u201cI began to wonder whether that was really true.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Frenshe founder \u2014 who now goes by <\/span>Ashley <\/span>French<\/a> \u2014 didn\u2019t call out anyone in the group by name, although she had previously shared a look at her hangouts with Duff, Moore and Trainor. <\/span><\/p>\n

She wrote that she was so \u201cimpressed\u201d by the people in her mom group “and all of the amazing things they had going on,\u201d but the dynamic went south when she found that she was being excluded from mom hangouts. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAt first, I tried not to take things personally,\u201d Tisdale<\/span> explained. \u201cIt\u2019s not like people aren\u2019t allowed to get together without me \u2014 and maybe there were perfectly good reasons that I hadn\u2019t been invited. We were all busy, life was hectic. I told myself it was all in my head and it wasn\u2019t a big deal.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

But the experience made her feel ill at ease. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHere I was sitting alone one night after getting my daughter to bed, thinking, \u2018Maybe I\u2019m not cool enough,\u2019\u201d Tisdale<\/span> recalled. \u201cAll of a sudden, I was in high school again, feeling totally lost as to what I was doing \u2018wrong\u2019 to be left out.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is too high school for me,\u201d she <\/span>said she<\/span> texted the group, \u201cand I don\u2019t want to take part in it anymore.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

However, <\/span>she said<\/span> her exit from the group didn\u2019t go over well, with some moms offering insincere apologies and others saying they didn\u2019t know why she was being left out. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMotherhood has enough challenges without having to wonder if the people around you are on your side,\u201d Tisdale<\/span> concluded. \u201cYou deserve to go through motherhood with people who actually, you know, like you. And if you have to wonder if they do, here\u2019s the hard-earned lesson I hope you\u2019ll take to heart: It\u2019s not the right group for you. Even if it looks like they\u2019re having the best time on Instagram.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
