Historically, Stewart said, America would come up with a high-minded pretense for intervening in other countries. He wondered what moral foundation the Trump administration would use to frame Saturday\u2019s military operation that killed at least 80 people. He then tossed to clips of Trump claiming that the U.S. would have a presence in Venezuela… so we can obtain its oil.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIs this your first war? I mean, what the fuck?!?\u201d Stewart exclaimed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Stewart turned to Sen. Lindsey Graham<\/a> (R-S.C.), and urged him to give Trump a casus belli that didn\u2019t involve oil.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThere are going to be Americans alive today because he shut down a narco-terrorist state called Venezuela. This is a good thing, not a bad thing,\u201d Graham said while aboard Air Force One.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

That\u2019s when Trump jumped in to mention that U.S. oil companies would rebuild the country\u2019s infrastructure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cGoddamn it! What?!?\u201d said Stewart as he ripped up a stack of papers. \u201cWe can\u2019t even be conspiracy theorists now!\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Stewart also played a clip of Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick<\/a> emphasizing to reporters that Venezuela possesses steel, aluminum and \u201ccritical minerals\u201d as well.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThese motherfuckers are going full conquistador in front of our eyes!\u201d quipped Stewart, before launching into an impression of Lutnick. \u201d\u2018I mean, they got oil, steel, minerals. And oh, don\u2019t forget about the spices, spices! We\u2019ll load our ships with cinnamon and cardamom, oil and everything bagels, you\u2019ll see!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
