Ethan Hawke is optimistic about his upcoming movie with director Richard Linklater, which will be their 10th project together.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, Jan. 7, with the Today show\u2019s<\/i> Craig Melvin, the Oscar-nominated actor spoke in full swing about the upcoming film.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverything\u2019s been preparation for what\u2019s to come,\u201d Hawke quipped. \u201cThe 10th is going to be the best.\u201d<\/p>\n
Melvin called his comments a \u201cbold statement.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m making it, man,\u201d Hawke clarified. \u201cI\u2019m not even shy. I\u2019m not even nervous about saying it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Dead Poets Society<\/i> star added that Linklater and he have been planning this movie since 1998, and the director had his mind on it even longer before that.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s had this dream for a long time in his head, and it\u2019s gonna be good,\u201d he continued, adding about the upcoming film. \u201cPersonally, I have no doubt in saying it will be among the greatest films ever made. And I\u2019ll be back on your show in about 18 months to back it up. We\u2019ll finish it next year, so yeah, \u201827.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hawke revealed few specifics, only confirming Melvin\u2019s hunch that the project will be a \u201cperiod piece.\u201d The film hasn\u2019t been officially announced yet, and both Hawke and Linklater have busy schedules ahead.<\/p>\n
