LOS ANGELES \u2014 Disney will let down Rapunzel’s lengthy hair once again.<\/p>\n
Walt Disney Pictures said Wednesday its live-action adaptation of \u201cTangled\u201d will star Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim in the lead roles of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.<\/p>\n
The 2010 animated hit followed Rapunzel, the magically long-haired princess locked away in a tower, whose carefully ordered life is upended when she teams up with Flynn Rider, a charming outlaw on the run. The original film featured the voices of Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, grossed more than $590 million worldwide, and spawned both the short film \u201cTangled Ever After\u201d and the Disney Channel series \u201cRapunzel\u2019s Tangled Adventure.\u201d<\/p>\n
The new \u201cTangled\u201d will be directed by Michael Gracey, best known for \u201cThe Greatest Showman,\u201d with a screenplay by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.<\/p>\n
No release date has been announced.<\/p>\n
Croft, an Australian actor, is best known for starring as Rachel Roth, aka Raven, on the DC series \u201cTitans,\u201d and her role on Netflix\u2019s \u201cTrue Spirit.\u201d<\/p>\n
Manheim is already a familiar face to Disney audiences after leading the \u201cZombies\u201d franchise.
