\u201cDaily Show<\/a>\u201d correspondent Ronny Chieng<\/a> on Tuesday mocked House Speaker Mike Johnson<\/a> (R-La.) for attempting to downplay the Trump administration\u2019s deadly military raid in Venezuela last weekend.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Chieng said Johnson was trying to ease the minds of Americans concerned with the U.S. pursuing regime change after the operation to seize Venezuelan President Nicol\u00e1s Maduro<\/a> and his wife, Cilia Flores, by force in the middle of the night. After all, Trump campaigned on stopping the U.S. from overseeing \u201creckless\u201d regime changes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cThis is not a regime change. This is a demand for change of behavior by a regime,\u201d Johnson told reporters on Monday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Chieng teased Johnson for trying to rebrand a regime change to a \u201cchanged regime.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cThank you, stupid Yoda!\u201d he quipped. \u201cStupid Yoda says<\/a>, \u2018Do or do not, there is no Epstein files.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Chieng proceeded to knock the administration for overthrowing a foreign government at gunpoint with no plan. He specifically highlighted Rep. Jimmy Patronis<\/a> (R-Fla.), who dismissed critics of the operation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cSometimes, when you break a few eggs, we got to learn how to make some omelets and this is exactly what we\u2019re going to do,\u201d Patronis told NewsNation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe break a few eggs, then learn how to make some omelets? This guy fucked up the metaphor so badly that he accidentally got it right,\u201d Chieng joked.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
