She showed off this freaky feeding frenzy on <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/01\/07\/health\/eating-2-pounds-of-raw-meat-a-day-led-to-bizarre-infection\/\">Wednesday\u2019s Season 7 premiere of TLC\u2019s \u201cMy Strange Addiction.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy relationship with food was very normal up until the point where I was in community college,\u201d Kathryn explained.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>A Virginia woman in her 30s has been snorting her food for the last five years. <span class=\"credit\">TLC<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIt started honestly with a dare to try snorting a flavored fruit drink,\u201d she continued. \u201cI got a head rush, but it was actually fruitier than if I was to have that through my mouth \u2014 and it was phenomenal. Since then, I have been having my entire diet nasally for about five years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That means she\u2019s sniffing blended omelettes with spinach and mushrooms, liquified spinach and steak, coffee and even spicy guacamole.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Kathryn confessed that she has \u201can aversion to the weird textures that come with food.\u201d She claims that her curious culinary conduct helps her avoid overeating and choking, declaring that it \u201chas really no drawbacks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately for Kathryn, this putrid proclivity is off-putting to her friends, family members and potential paramours.<\/p>\n<p>She spent much of Wednesday\u2019s episode fretting over how to introduce her odd obsession to her new beau and \u2014 spoiler alert! \u2014 it did not go well.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Kathryn grossed out her date by snorting her beverage. <span class=\"credit\">TLC<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Kathryn had gone on several dates with Justin before meeting him at the District Biscuit Company in Alexandria, Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>He presented her a bouquet of colorful flowers. She presented her problem almost immediately.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n\t<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cAre you able to blend the food?\u201d Kathryn asked the server after she sat down.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately, we do not have a blender,\u201d the server replied, \u201cbut we do have grits, tomato soup and our in-house vegetarian sausage gravy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kathryn selected the grits because she was assured they could fit through a straw. Justin chose a homemade biscuit with jam.<\/p>\n<p>The food arrived and Kathryn took her blue-and-silver manicured hands and pressed the straw inside her right nostril to suck up her iced coffee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKathryn, what the f\u2014 are you doing?\u201d Justin asked with concern as other diners snickered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt this point in time, I don\u2019t know what\u2019s in the cards for me and Kathryn, but if I can\u2019t stomach watching how Kathryn eats her food, I can\u2019t promise a bright future for us,\u201d Justin admitted.<\/p>\n<p>Justin\u2019s chagrin prompted Kathryn to visit Dr. Matthew Haden, a primary care physician, who warned her about the dangers of nasal nutrition.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Aspirated food can accidentally enter the airway and lungs instead of the esophagus. <span class=\"credit\">xreflex \u2013 stock.adobe.com<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Food \u2014 even if it\u2019s pureed \u2014 can become lodged in the throat or windpipe, blocking airflow and causing choking.<\/p>\n<p>Plus, items that are especially acidic or spicy can trigger severe burning, inflammation and bleeding in the delicate tissues of the nasal passages and throat.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n\t<\/aside>\n<p>Haden worried about liquid in her lungs and infections that could spread to her central nervous system and kill her.<\/p>\n<p>He examined her lungs and didn\u2019t find signs of wetness, a relief for Kathryn.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve dodged a bullet, like, I\u2019ve just been lucky,\u201d Kathryn said.<\/p>\n<p>So could this be the last straw for Kathryn\u2019s aspiration addiction?<\/p>\n<p>She promised on the show that she\u2019s \u201cgoing to try my best to stop snorting my food.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not exactly sure how I\u2019m going to go about it,\u201d she added, \u201cbut I\u2019m going to try to begin taking baby steps, even today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Later, Kathryn told The Post that she\u2019s \u201ccut back\u201d since filming the episode.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am doing my best to stop entirely, but it\u2019s taking time as I handle some inner work,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>As for Justin, Kathryn said he \u201cfriend-zoned\u201d her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe never got me flowers or anything ever again,\u201d she told The Post. \u201cI would love to reconnect with him on a romantic basis down the line, as he was super sweet while we were dating.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cMy Strange Addiction\u201d airs Wednesdays on TLC at 9 p.m. ET\/PT.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><em> \u2018 The preceding article may include information circulated by third parties \u2019 <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> \u2018 Some details of this article were extracted from the following source celebrity.land \u2019 <\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathryn quite literally inhales all of her meals.
