Le Bon, the Welsh art-pop wonder, released her latest opus <em><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/stereogum.com\/2323892\/album-of-the-week-cate-le-bon-michelangelo-dying\/reviews\/album-of-the-week\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Michelango Dying<\/a><\/em> in September. &#8220;Always The Same,&#8221; her new collaboration with Annie Clark, was crafted during the sessions for the album, and its surreal, woozy synth environment is of a piece. The main difference is that here Le Bon is joined by Clark, who has operated in a less avant-garde mode for the past decade-ish but still strikes me as a kindred spirit.<\/p>\n<p>A note from Le Bon:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>&#8220;Always The Same&#8221; needed a little more elbow room than the album would allow but it is cousin to the song cycle of <em>Michelangelo Dying<\/em>, coming into formation in the same breath.
