The CEO is <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/peter-coleman\/\" id=\"auto-tag_peter-coleman\" data-tag=\"peter-coleman\">Peter Coleman<\/a>, a board member and chief executive of Film Services International (FFI), a holding for historic completion bond company <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/film-finances\/\" id=\"auto-tag_film-finances\" data-tag=\"film-finances\">Film Finances<\/a>, the global leader in the space, and a group of production and post-production firms, which will all become sister companies of STX. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tA-CAP is a 50% partner in FFI. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tDeadline hears that STX founder and chairman Robert Simonds and chief executive <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/noah-fogelson\/\" id=\"auto-tag_noah-fogelson\" data-tag=\"noah-fogelson\">Noah Fogelson<\/a> are exiting. Sam Brown, President of STX Film &amp; Television, remains in place in this latest iteration of the indie film producer, which was last sold by former owner Eros International <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/the-najafi-companies\/\">to The Najafi Companies in 2022<\/a>. Back then, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/lionsgate\/\" id=\"auto-tag_lionsgate\" data-tag=\"lionsgate\">Lionsgate<\/a> was also rumored to be a potential acquirer but instead, in 2023, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2023\/08\/lionsgate-stx-the-marsh-kings-daughter-daisy-ridley-1235525970\/\">the two inked a library sale, with STX retaining most of the residual rights to remakes and sequels, and a marketing and distribution pact<\/a> for STX theatrical releases in North America. Noah Fogelson\u2019s brother Adam Fogelson, Lionsgate Studios\u2019 motion picture chair, formerly led the STX film group.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tSTX films include Gerard Butler\u2019s disaster thriller\u00a0<em>Greenland<\/em> and sequel <em><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/greenland-2\/\" id=\"auto-tag_greenland-2\" data-tag=\"greenland-2\">Greenland 2<\/a>: Migration<\/em>, which opens this weekend via Lionsgate with STX handling international. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tOther STX Entertainment properties include Jennifer Lopez-starring\u00a0<em>Hustlers<\/em>; the\u00a0<em>Bad Moms<\/em>\u00a0franchise; Guy Ritchie\u2019s action-comedy\u00a0<em>The Gentlemen<\/em> with Matthew McConaughey; Aaron Sorkin\u2019s <em>Molly\u2019s Game<\/em> starring Jessica Chastain; <em>I Feel Pretty,<\/em>\u00a0starring Amy Schumer;\u00a0<em>My Spy,<\/em>\u00a0starring Dave Bautista; and\u00a0<em>21 Bridges<\/em>, starring Chadwick Boseman.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tColeman said STX will focus on making quality films with budgets up to $20 million. It\u2019s aiming to start with two to three this year and double that in 2027 with an initial slate announcement coming over the next month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cThe reboot of STX comes at a time where independent filmmakers face challenges across development, packaging, financing, execution and distribution,\u201d he said. With the STX and  FFI ecosystem, \u201cWe can help bring a filmmaker\u2019s vision to life, support its distribution and, of course, continue producing our own projects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tSTX is currently in post-production on the first installment of Katie Holmes\u2019 <em>Happy Hours Trilog<\/em>y starring Holmes and Joshua Jackson. Projects under development and pre-production include <em>Mom Prom<\/em> from producer Toby Emmerich, <em>Crime after Crime <\/em>from producers Nick Stoller, Ike Barinholz and Dave Stassin, as well as new projects based on the <em>Bad Moms<\/em>, <em>Hustlers<\/em> and <em>Countdown<\/em> IP. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cSTX has been quiet for a few years. But it still has a brand and it still has IP that is valuable. What it needed was new ownership and new capital. We cleaned up the capital structure and the new owner is committed to fully finance the forward slate,\u201d Coleman said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tFFI Holding, which includes the bond company along with Pivotal Post, EPS-Cineworks Digital Studios, Buff Dubbs + DAMsmart, Silver Trak Digital and LiquidLight, itself <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2024\/11\/film-finances-sale-lenders-cutting-ties-777-parthers-1236166681\/\">was recently sold to new investors including an A-CAP subsidiary last year<\/a>.
