Netflix\u2018s \u201cStranger Things<\/a>\u201d series finale aired Dec. 31, marking the conclusion of the remarkable show\u2019s nearly decade-long run.<\/p>\n The show\u2019s creators, brothers Ross<\/a> and Matt Duffer<\/a>, recently touched on whether the beloved sci-fi drama would ever return.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel like this season really, truly does close the door on this story, on the story of Hawkins, and the story of the Upside Down and the story of these characters,\u201d Ross Duffer told Entertainment Tonight<\/a> <\/i>in an interview.<\/p>\n However, the show runner did not completely close the door on a Stranger Things return in the future.<\/p>\n \u201cI guess never say never,\u201d Duffer said. \u201c(Maybe) in 20 years, if we\u2019re all broke and need some money (and) we\u2019ve all talked about it.\u201d <\/p>\n The directors described the idea as their \u201csafety net\u201d in case they need work in the future.<\/p>\n Although fans would love to see a \u201cStranger Things\u201d return, the show\u2019s actors share similar sentiments to the creators.<\/p>\n \u201cIf there\u2019s a story when we\u2019re all in very, very different stages of our lives, maybe,\u201d Finn Wolfhard<\/a>, who plays Mike Wheeler in the show, told Entertainment Tonight<\/a>. \u201cBut I think that the whole point of the show ending is because it\u2019s run its course.\u201d<\/p>\n Netflix even addressed an online conspiracy that the show would release a special ninth episode of the final season soon.<\/p>\n On Wednesday, the streaming giant shot down speculation of a return by updating the bios of the show\u2019s social media accounts<\/a> with a message: \u201cALL EPISODES OF STRANGER THINGS ARE NOW PLAYING.\u201d<\/p>\n The iconic show\u2019s end is done for now. But as the show\u2019s fanbase knows, you can never rule out a strange occurrence.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
