He was 63.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"UHKVML4KJFAVJKWAEF56AQ7FUU\">Sean\u2019s son Jesse <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2026\/01\/07\/patrick-swayze-brother-sean-dead\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2026\/01\/07\/patrick-swayze-brother-sean-dead\/\">told TMZ<\/a> his father died on Dec. 15 in the Los Angeles area. <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/patrick-swayze-brother-sean-swayze-dead-at-63-11881267\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/people.com\/patrick-swayze-brother-sean-swayze-dead-at-63-11881267\">PEOPLE<\/a> also confirmed Sean\u2019s death by obtaining his death certificate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"YP32VE3FJJFZRPWTU3TCL5PAYQ\">The document indicated that Sean died from an upper gastrointestinal bleed, which was ultimately caused by \u201csevere metabolic acidosis, esophageal varices and alcoholic liver cirrhosis,\u201d PEOPLE reported. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"REDW6PKECRELZOLBQLNL2USSWM\">Additionally Sean\u2019s cousin, Rachel Leon, posted an emotional tribute to him on <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DSXmAIIDEUt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DSXmAIIDEUt\/\">Instagram<\/a> back in December.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"WOALT4TRFFCYLIAI62NLIDISBU\">\u201cI\u2019m heartbroken to share that my cousin Sean Swayze passed away today,\u201d the post from Dec. 17, 2025 reads.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"7JKZFOWK5FBPPI3T4F6KILCAKQ\">\u201cHe was always fun and full of life.Just recently, we were talking about him coming down to Texas to spend time with us, and I was really looking forward to it. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his brother Don Swayze and his children, Cassie Swayze, Kyle Swayze and Jesse Swayze,\u201d Leon wrote. \u201cWe are praying hard for the entire family during this difficult time. Please know that we love you and are always here for you. Sean, I love you so much, and we will miss you dearly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"XQNK5ZSFZREBXNJ24V7GCQK42Y\">Sean worked as an entertainment Teamster at the time of his death, PEOPLE noted.
