A brand new film in the series will be released on June 26 this year.<\/p>\n
Series star Johnny Knoxville teased the return of the franchise in a joint Instagram post with production company Gorilla Flicks and the official “Jackass” page.<\/p>\n
\u201cWell a wang dang and hot damn doodle, we are starting the year off with a bang. We wanted to let you know that this summer Jackass is back!! We will see you in theatres June 26th,\u201d he wrote. \u201cMore to come but wanted you to hear it from us first!!\u201d<\/p>\n
Variety confirmed<\/a> that the film will consist of all new material and not a re-release of a past project.<\/p>\n The last \u201cJackass\u201d movie was released four years ago in 2022, featuring some of the original stuntmen weirdos like Knoxville, Steve-O, and Danger Ehren, as well as newcomers, like Zach Holmes, Sean \u201cPoopies\u201d McInerney, Jasper Dolphin, Eric Manaka and Rachel Wolfson.<\/p>\n \u201cJackass\u201d began as a TV show on MTV in 2000 before growing into a multi-film franchise that also includes spinoff films like \u201cJackass Presents: Bad Grandpa.\u201d<\/p>\n Fans of the original lineup will be excited to hear that Bam Margera has a signed a deal to allow never-before-seen archival footage to be used in \u201cJackass 5,\u201d per Variety<\/a>.<\/p>\n The deal marks a truce between Knoxville\u2019s \u201cJackass\u201d team and Margera, who was removed from \u201cJackass Forever\u201d after allegedly violating a \u201cwellness agreement\u201d which required regular drug and alcohol testing, the outlet reported. Margera filed a lawsuit that was later dropped, claiming he was coerced into the agreement while he was in rehab in 2019 and unfairly fired from \u201cJackass\u201d after testing positive for Adderrall, a prescription he said he\u2019s taken for years.<\/p>\n Last year, Margera ruled out a reunion with his former co-stars, telling CinemaBlend<\/a>, \u201cWhat they did to me, making me go to treatment and paying for it, and then not putting me in a movie, and, you know, I had to go to court over it. You couldn\u2019t offer me enough money to want to do another \u2018Jackass\u2019 with them. The damage has been done.\u201d<\/p>\n Prior to Margera\u2019s comments, Knoxville said he was hopeful Margera could return after he\u2019d gotten \u201cbetter.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI only want him to get better.
