Cate Le Bon<\/a> has spent the last few years finding new ways to explore and engage with her own twisting pop creativities. With the release of last year\u2019s Michelangelo Dying<\/em>, she continued to elaborate on the iridescent pop landscapes in which she travels, finding new ways to explore and express the swirling sounds that seemed to emerge fully formed from her subconscious. Occasionally murky and amorphous, aqueous and shifting, her songs are born of pure instinct and impulse.<\/p>\n \u201cAlways the Same\u201d, a new standalone collaboration with St. Vincent<\/a>, marks their first work together since Le Bon showed up on St. Vincent\u2019s 2024 album All Born Screaming<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em>It fits in perfectly with her previous record\u2019s art-pop aesthetics, wobbly melodies careening across the horizon while discovering new musical roads to investigate and deconstruct. The music is conjured rather than performed, her voice an oracle guiding us toward some hazy revelation.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2018Always The Same\u2019 needed a little more elbow room than the album would allow but it is cousin to the song cycle of Michelangelo Dying, coming into formation in the same breath,<\/em>\u201d Le Bon explains. \u201cSpecial to me because it features dear friend and mighty artist St. Vincent who occupies the space around me with composure and gravitas whilst I kick around in the dirty waters of love.<\/em>\u201c<\/p>\n Listen to the song below.<\/p>\n
