A new instrumental project titled Tribute to Dreams<\/span> is set to release on January 9, bringing attention to an unusual creative trajectory\u2014how early training in dance can inform a composer\u2019s musical language. The work is led by rhythm-based composer Jubin, who began his artistic journey in the Uday Shankar<\/a> Dance Style at Udayan Kalendra. That grounding in choreography, combined with influences from Ananda Shankar, Timir Baran and Ravi Shankar, later steered him toward composition. His latest track follows his earlier instrumental piece Divine Emotion<\/span> and again draws on the legacy of the Shankar family. The release reunites him with long-time collaborator Prajna Dutta, an interdisciplinary performer with experience across music, theatre and screen. The pair previously worked together when Jubin played percussion in Prajna\u2019s Latin band La Ventana. According to the duo, the idea for Tribute to Dreams<\/span> emerged during a phone conversation that revived their decades-long friendship across cities. Prajna contributes strings and track design, while Jubin shapes the rhythmic spine and overall texture. Although positioned as an instrumental single, the creators emphasise that the composition is rooted in movement and may find particular resonance among contemporary dancers.
