Mumford & Sons<\/a> have shared a new single, \u2018The Banjo Song\u2019 \u2013 you can listen to it below.<\/p>\n

The song marks the third preview of the London band\u2019s sixth studio album, \u2018Prizefighter\u2019<\/a>, which is released on Friday February 20 via Island. Pre-order\/pre-save here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Co-written by Aaron Dessner<\/a> of The National<\/a> and Jon Bellion<\/a>, the bittersweet track begins with the verse: \u201cOn the dark side of the Earth\/ Where the creatures are out\/ I\u2019m a man on the moon\/ Midnight \u2018round my neck\/ And sunrise on my breath\/ I still wait for you<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later, frontman Marcus Mumford<\/a> asks: \u201cWell, hey\/ Did you call, did you fall, do you need someone?\/ Do you need someone?<\/em>\u201d He then admits: \u201cAnd, hey\/ I\u2019m a mess myself but I think I could be someone\/ If you need someone<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The singer-songwriter goes on to assure that \u201cthings don\u2019t have to fall apart<\/em>\u201c, despite ongoing struggles. He sings: \u201cTell a lie\/ See a light\/ Burn a bridge\/ It\u2019ll be alright<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mumford & Sons had previewed<\/a> \u2018The Banjo Song\u2019 on social media last night (Thursday January 8), saying: \u201cWe can\u2019t wait for you guys to hear it properly in [its] full sonic glory.\u201d<\/p>\n
