Chase Rice is taking a break from touring so that the country music<\/a> star can recharge.<\/p>\n Rice opened up in an Instagram post<\/a> on Wednesday, Jan. 7 in which he clarified that his break \u201cisn\u2019t a goodbye thing or anything like that,\u201d but that he is \u201cexhausted\u201d after touring for 13 years. <\/p>\n \u201cI haven\u2019t been able to be myself on stage in quite a while and really enjoy music and why I got into it in the first place. I love songs, I love living them, hearing stories from other people, and figuring out how to put that life into music,\u201d the 40-year-old wrote while mentioning that touring \u201cfinally beat me up to the point where I need to step away for a while.\u201d<\/p>\n Rice continued, \u201cI need to go live life so that I have more real experiences to write down. I won\u2019t be touring this year and it wasn\u2019t even really a decision, it was something I know that I just have to do for myself. A lot of artists do this all the time, but it\u2019s new for me so it\u2019s kind of a big deal in my life.\u201d <\/p>\n The singer went on show love for his band and crew for all their years of hard work and dedication. Rice also expressed love for his fans \u201cthat have followed me along this journey.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou have truly made a dream of mine come true,\u201d he wrote. <\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve got a handful of shows this year, but it will not look like anything like what I\u2019ve done the last 13 years of my life,\u201d Rice continued. \u201cI hope this year brings new experiences for me to put into songs that will make y\u2019all happy. Until then, thanks for the ride.\u201d <\/p>\n Rice first rose to fame as a contestant and runner-up on \u201cSurvivor: Nicaragua\u201d in 2010. After the show, Rice began focusing on his country music career. He later co-wrote Florida Georgia Line\u2019s diamond-certified smash \u201cCruise,\u201d which was released the same year as his album “Dirt Road Communion” that peaked at No. 48 on the Hot Country Albums chart in 2012. <\/p>\n Rice later topped the same chart with his 2014 follow-up, \u201cIgnite the Night.\u201d The album spawned the smash hits \u201cReady Set Roll\u201d and \u201cGonna Wanna Tonight,\u201d which both reached the top 10 of the Hot Country Songs chart. Rice has since released four more albums through 2024 and topped the Country Airplay chart with \u201cEyes On You” in 2018 and \u201cDrinkin\u2019 Beer. Talkin\u2019 God. Amen.\u201d in 2020.<\/p>\n Rice currently has eight shows<\/a> scheduled for the year, starting in Nashville, Tennessee in February and ending in Los Angeles, California in August. <\/p>\n
