Ashley Tisdale is not afraid to speak her mind.<\/p>\n
With her new op-ed, \u201cBreaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group\u201d on The Cut, Tisdale proved she won\u2019t shy away from any topic.<\/p>\n
In her essay, the former Disney star ruminated over what she believed was finding her \u201cvillage\u201d with a group of women, but instead felt thrown \u201cback in high school.\u201d While Tisdale said she initially \u201cfelt lucky\u201d to find such support in the group, she quickly noticed herself being phased out of certain group activities. Many were quick to find photos of Tisdale online, linking her to a group of celebrity moms who included Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore and Meghan Trainor.<\/p>\n
This isn\u2019t the first time Tisdale has been outspoken online. After condemning political violence<\/a> in the wake of Charlie Kirk\u2019s death, Tisdale defended what many online considered to be a tribute to the conservative activist. \u201cIt shouldn\u2019t be controversial to say this, but even when we disagree or find someone\u2019s views offensive, violence is never the answer,\u201d she wrote<\/a> at the time, before noting she still holds progressive beliefs.<\/p>\n ASHLEY TISDALE SLAMS \u2018TOXIC\u2019 MOM GROUP AFTER REPEATED EXCLUSION<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Tisdale has also been outspoken about the criticism and scrutiny she\u2019s received over the years as she moved on from child stardom. She recalled the shame she felt after getting a nose job in 2007 to fix health issues.<\/p>\n \u201cPlastic surgery wasn\u2019t culturally accepted then like it is now,\u201d she wrote on Frenshe<\/a> in 2021. \u201cWhen I got it done I was scrutinized, judged, and made to feel ashamed over my decision. I made a decision that was no one\u2019s business (and is STILL no one\u2019s business) and for that decision, I was constantly made to feel bad about it.\u201d<\/p>\n Here\u2019s a look at the latest drama surrounding Tisdale\u2019s mom group essay:<\/p>\n Matthew Koma appeared<\/a> to take a dig at Ashley Tisdale after the\u00a0\u201cHigh School Musical\u201d alum exposed what she described as a \u201ctoxic\u201d mom group that Duff is allegedly part of.<\/p>\n One day after Tisdale shared her op-ed, \u201cBreaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group,\u201d on The Cut<\/u><\/a>, Koma took to social media to poke fun at the actress\u2019 claims.<\/p>\n Koma edited a photo to place himself onto a similar background as Tisdale\u2019s cover photo, using The Cut\u2019s logo and a fictional headline that read, \u201cWhen You\u2019re The Most Self Obsessed Tone Deaf Person On Earth, Other Moms Tend To Shift Focus To Their Actual Toddlers,\u201d with a sub-headline that read, \u201cA Mom Group Tell All Through A Father\u2019s Eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cRead my new interview with @TheCut,\u201d Koma captioned the Instagram Story post.<\/p>\n The next day, Koma posted another Instagram Story about Moore\u2019s song \u201cCandy,\u201d and Moore replied on her own account, praising him and writing, \u201cLove you.\u201d<\/p>\n Ashley Tisdale\u2019s husband<\/a>, Christopher French, posted a cryptic message to his Instagram story after the \u201cHigh School Musical\u201d star\u2019s essay gained traction online.<\/p>\n \u201cUnderrated life skill: Pausing to decide if it\u2019s worth your energy,\u201d the quote he posted read.<\/p>\n LIKE WHAT YOU\u2019RE READING? I think it\u2019s really great, [and] that\u2019s why mommy-and-me classes exist.\u201d<\/p>\n Romano went on to explain that things become \u201ca little trickier\u201d as your kids get older. The \u201cKim Possible\u201d star pointed out that sometimes kids stop getting along, which causes moms to cycle out of friendships.<\/p>\n \u201cThat kinda sucks, but in the end, if you can make time for the people that matter to you, they should be giving back to you as much as you\u2019re putting out. If that dynamic shifts, then just find another group of friends.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s very simple.
