\u201cThe Pitt\u201d is back with new drama, new medical emergencies and \u2026 new romances?<\/p>\n
During the season 2 premiere, which hit HBO Max on Thursday, Jan. 8, Dr. Yolanda Garcia <\/b>(Alexandra Metz) made a passing comment that confirmed there\u2019s something going on between her and Dr. Trinity Santos <\/b>(Isa Briones). Fans picked up on some flirty vibes between the pair during season 1, but it seems that they\u2019re having sleepovers now. <\/p>\n
At the end of last season, Santos told unhoused med student Dennis Whitaker that he could be her roommate. It seems that Garcia crossed paths with Whitaker while staying over at Santos\u2019 place. She hinted at the interaction while teasing him during the season 2 premiere. <\/p>\n \u201cWhat\u2019s up, White Chocolate? Did you know our farm boy here is a vintage funk freak? Unfortunately, he also likes to use other people\u2019s toothbrushes,\u201d Garcia said. <\/p>\n Briones, who plays Santos, talked to TVLine<\/a> about Garcia and Santos\u2019 dynamic during an interview published on Friday, Jan. 9. <\/p>\n \u201cI think it makes sense that we\u2019re exploring it in a very natural, kind of nuanced way. It\u2019s not like now they\u2019re getting married,\u201d Briones said. \u201cIt\u2019s very undefined \u2014 and I think that\u2019s what makes for more interesting storytelling.\u201d<\/p>\n Briones added that viewers will see Santos being \u201ca little unsure of where she stands with Garcia\u201d this season.<\/p>\n \u201cI think what some fans want is for it to be this full-fledged thing \u2014 like, they\u2019re in love. And no,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s like a lot of workplace relationships that any of us have seen. There\u2019s some awkwardness. There\u2019s some, like, \u2018What are we?\u2019 And like, \u2018OK, this is just fun. But is it?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n In addition to her situationship with Garcia, Santos is navigating an awkward dynamic with Dr. Frank Langdon<\/a>. Last season, Santos was the one to raise concerns about painkillers going missing on Langdon\u2019s cases. That shift happens to be Langdon\u2019s first day back after his stint in rehab as well as Dr. Robby\u2019s last day on the job before a months-long sabbatical. Robby spent the premiere episode trying to avoid Langdon, but a candid conversation is certainly in the two doctors\u2019 future.<\/p>\n The season 2 premiere ended on a cliffhanger involving the show\u2019s newest character, Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi (Sepideh Moafi). The attending physician, who will be Robby\u2019s interim replacement during his time off, arrived at The Pitt brimming with confidence and new ideas. But at the end of the episode, Al-Hashimi was left speechless while looking at an infant\u2019s test results. <\/p>\n The baby was found abandoned in the hospital\u2019s waiting room bathroom but seemed to be in perfect health.
