I\u2019m so glad you mentioned Jason Segel, because he\u2019s truly one of the nicest, warmest people. He\u2019s beyond supportive.<\/strong><\/p>\n He\u2019s so kind. It was during a commercial break where everyone\u2019s kind of talking and not even looking at the stage and I\u2019m just standing out there kind of awkwardly waiting for us to come back from break. I felt so awkward even being out there, because I had just done the monologue and I\u2019m like, They\u2019re mad at me. I made fun of them. And I just un-blurred for a second. He was just like [thumbs up], and it was so sweet. I don\u2019t think he\u2019s there this year, but I\u2019ll find someone. Ariana Grande is really encouraging too.<\/p>\n Have you watched all the nominated films? Is that a prerequisite when you\u2019re going to host?<\/strong><\/p>\n Yeah, I like to watch them, not just so I can have something to talk to the nominees about\u2026if I\u2019m going to make a joke about someone, I want to be able to actually give them a compliment either before it, or after it, that is actually coming from a sincere place. So I try to watch everything that I\u2019m making fun of.<\/p>\n As we saw last year, nothing is mean-spirited. It\u2019s all in good fun. So what did you love this year, because frankly I found so many of the nominated films depressing and weird.<\/strong><\/p>\n I love director Joachim Trier, and his film, The Worst Person in the World, is my favorite movie, so when I saw Sentimental Value, I was just like, Oh, I hope this is as good. And I loved it so much. I\u2019m so glad to see that nominated. Marty Supreme was just so fun. Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet commits so hard. And then I loved One Battle After Another so much, I saw that twice.<\/p>\n Wow.<\/strong><\/p>\n Have you seen Song Sung Blue?<\/p>\n I loved Song Sung Blue! I was going to say, that and The Housemaid were the only two films I thoroughly enjoyed this year.\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n I loved Song Sung Blue. I feel like Hugh Jackman got hugely snubbed. He had, like, 17 heart attacks in that movie, in all different flavors of them. He was so, so good. I\u2019m glad that Kate Hudson is nominated for a Globe, but I felt like Hugh Jackman should have been as well. I thought that was an incredible movie and it should have been up for best picture. I don\u2019t know, maybe people just couldn\u2019t wrap their heads around the\u2026it almost seemed like a parody or farce. People just thought it was a joke or something, but it\u2019s so, so good.<\/p>\n
