(WDBJ) &#8211; Greg Jackson brings 100 years of early American history in 100 minutes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The live show coming to the Historic Academy Theatre in Lynchburg on Saturday, January 10 is based on history professor Greg Jackson\u2019s podcast \u201cHistory That Doesn\u2019t Suck.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThis is a history that isn\u2019t going to bore you to tears. It doesn\u2019t suck in its delivery. But I am a university professor. I\u2019m a tenured professor. I have a PhD in history,\u201d says Jackson.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cYou\u2019re going to get awash in lights, music, the imagery, so this is kind of like, if you could attend a Ken Burns production live, but with a slightly irreverent delivery,\u201d he explains.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The rock show presentation will transport the audience on a 100 year journey of a young nation, from the American Revolution through the Civil War.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cSo, we will fly through all of that in one show. And as we do so, we\u2019re still going to get rich gems, deep stories, deep cuts from the personal lives of the people who lived it,\u201d says Jackson.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Jackson points out that behind the entertaining production lies a historical lesson that he\u2019s heavily researched.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A show he hopes will help enlighten and unify all Americans during a time of deep division.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cSo whether we\u2019ve been in blue or red states, everyone, liberals and conservatives alike in the same audience have walked out with a renewed appreciation for the importance of understanding that we are all Americans.
