Tom Blyth has recently reflected on his role in People We Meet On Vacation<\/i> movie.<\/p>\n

The English actor, who plays Alex in Emily Henry\u2019s adaptation, shared his experience playing the leading man in the rom-com movie.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I am just ready to do something fun,\u201d said the 30-year-old in a new interview with US Weekly<\/i> at the movie\u2019s premiere on January 6. <\/p>\n

Tom continues, \u201cI\u2019m ready to do something light.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before this movie, the Plainclothes<\/i> actor revealed that he played serious roles in many movies.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had done a lot of serious stuff back-to-back and I was kind of ready to do something that was going to lift up my soul a little bit,\u201d explained Tom.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the interview, the actor opened up about his experience of playing a leading man in the first-ever rom-com genre.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll the old \u201880s classics were my inspiration,\u201d he told Us<\/i>. <\/p>\n

Interestingly, Tom was also inspired by Tom Hanks\u2019 performances in You\u2019ve Got Mail <\/i>and Sleepless in Seattle<\/i>.<\/p>\n

The Wasteman<\/i> actor mentioned that a \u201cgood, old-fashioned rom-com\u201d is exactly \u201cwhat the world needs right now\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we can take ourselves really seriously sometimes. And I certainly have been guilty of that at times,\u201d remarked Tom. <\/p>\n

The actor added, \u201cIt\u2019s really worthwhile to do something fun once in a while and remind yourself that what we do for a living is playful and fun and a luxury and to lean into that, and lean into the love.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
